Construction
Each moderator we make is hand built from several specially formulated grades of high quality US military grade titanium.
With much experience and a little help from some friends in the aerospace industry early on, we formulated 3 none standard grades for each individual purpose throughout the moderator, and now have titanium solid bar and tube alloyed to our specification from raw titanium sponge at the mill.
Some parts of a moderator need to be both flexible and strong, whereas other parts need to be very hard, smooth and durable when threaded onto a muzzle, etc. Other parts need to be capable of taking immense pressure and heat without cracking or burning out (ever). All of them need to withstand constant variables of heat, pounding and chemical attack from the burning of gun powder.
By choosing these different grades for each part of the moderator, we have optimised its lifespan to make it as durable and as well made as any high quality scope, and it is likely that your Lawrence Precision moderator will outlast several rifles.
Titanium contains no iron , so it cannot rust , and will never rot or burn out !
Titanium is both lighter, stronger and much tougher than steel or stainless steel , whilst being nearer to aluminium in weight and density .
Each moderator we build , is made using high quality threads on all threaded components, which are cut to aerospace tolerances using only the very best cutting tools and process's .
Time and time again we have feedback complimenting the quality, finish, performance and lack of weight with our products.
